ParticipantOn my travels I occasionally see a poster for a small local event, often a plough day or similar. These are often not advertised. If I see any in time to achieve publication I’ll send them on. However often they are only for a week or two in advance (or worse still last week!) I’d like to get the plough out a little bit more often, especially from autumn to spring. Others may feel the same so short notice ones I’ll put on here. If other members could reciprocate (especially for events in East Anglia!) it would be much appreciated.

ParticipantHere it is. Took some time to reassemble as space much more limited than on 56, so had to have carb off to access mag fixings.

ParticipantYou may have gathered from my post the other week that I got the 56 plough magneto working by rebuilding it using parts from a second hand magneto I had bought. I bought the mag as I didn’t have much success with the Easycap. Anyway, I’d also got a duff mag on the 35. As it was raining this afternoon I stripped that down, cleaned everything, replaced the condenser with the Easycap. Lo and behold, a healthy spark!
I must be learning!
Hopefully a post of the 35 running tomorrow if I have time to fit it. Just to say if I can do it anyone can, so don’t be afraid to have a go!October 26, 2018 at 8:25 pm #29483roatavator
ParticipantMine too. Great photos and article on Weeley. I’ll be back!

ParticipantEasier said than done Andy. It was all I could do to breathe standing beside it!
PS I still live in hope my mate will be able to 3D print a cover for the 700 for you. We can’t understand why it won’t work, I’ll prompt him to have another go when the frost comes (no pun intended) as he thought the warm weather wasn’t helping.

ParticipantThat’s really great to see, Charlie! I presume from how well it’s running that was Sunday? Wish now I’d done both days!
Looking forward to seeing you working her in earnest next year.September 16, 2018 at 7:52 pm #29258roatavator

ParticipantDave, my comments were well deserved! And Weeley is a lovely location for the event. Almost forgot to add the video of the Rowtrac!

ParticipantBack from Weeley Saturday session. It was great to be able to say hello in person to several members I only knew through the forum. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. I’ll definitely be back in future years. What a marvellous club this is, full of very knowledgable and friendly people. Special thanks to Dave for great preparation of the working field, soil turned over a treat. No doubt there will be a full report in The Cultivator, but for those who would like a sample of a SIMAR Serenade, here’s more SIMARS working together than you are likely to see again this year.

All the files I now possess have been sent.
Hope they help.

ParticipantCharlie
After a troublesome summer with my collection it looks like I’ll have to bring a 56. Whether plough or tiller at this stage I can’t say. Of the rest two leak fuel and two are being uncooperative!

ParticipantI reckon the 35 will have more than enough power and weight for that. Looking forward to to seeing how it goes!
