Once it is scanned I will have it saved for the future. If you send your e mail address to the VHGMC e mail address vhgmc@btinternet.com I will pick it up.
I have a 38 page Mechanics Handbook for Kirby Lauson 4 stroke engines,it will take a while to scan the entire book. Let me know if you would like a copy (pdf file).
Any good garden machinery repair shop or motor factors should be able to supply the correct spark plug so long as you know what it should be, take old one as sample. What is the engine Briggs & Stratton?
Since my previous post I have found a parts list and now know what the part looks like. It might be worth taking the remains of the old one to a bearing supplier to see if they have anything, alternatively a small engineering company should be able to make one.
Richard, have you tried contacting Hayter to see if they have any information? Like you I have not heard of a Clinton engine fitted to Hayter. Does the mower have any identifying marks? If you could post a photo it would help (see help and information section of forum for notes on adding photos).
Sadly Cox & Turner are snowed under with work and are not taking on new work outside their core activities. They do have a huge stock of piston rings and can make rings if required.
Peter, if you send your e mail address to club e mail account (vhgmc@btinternet.com) I will pick it up and send copy of manual, the most useful part of the manual for a strip down is the parts list.
