Have you contacted Meetens to see if they can supply an engine?

The cotters are in blind holes, so can only come out the one way.

wristpin thanks for the advice, I will persevere with the heat option and penetrating fluid. I was thinking of trying the OLC as I am sure someone there will know.

Push pull Ewharts fuel taps are available from various suppliers, try villiersparts.co.uk as they will also have some engine parts eg ignition system as well as fuel system. Throttle cables can be made to measure have a look at mototcycle parts suppliers eg Feked.com where you can buy inner and outer cable along with ferrules and end nipples which will need soldering on.
For other engine parts try Meetens

The machine serial number should be stamped into top of tube that runs forward from gear levers to fuel tank.
Lack of forward or reverse, have you checked to see if wheels are loose on axle? There is a slip clutch mechanism the pressure of which is controlled by a large spring and the big nut in centre of wheels.

I have done a very quick ‘restoration’, (new tyres, load bed and serviced brakes) on a Barford Atom trailer which I will be bringing along with a couple of other machines.

No date is set as far as I know, the figure of 30 years has been mentioned and for motor vehicles to qualify for historic class taxation it is 40 years. . Although for ploughing the cut off date is 1960.
