Without looking on the internet from memory Bridges made electric drills (no idea how I know or why I think that). The device looks a bit like the Tarpen attachment that was available.

The magazine is at the printers and renewal reminders will be sent to any members that have not yet renewed. To be sure of getting your copy of the February issue of The Cultivator please renew asap.

The Museum of English Rural Life (MERL) at Reading have the factory records and engineering drawings etc for Allen Scythe, you could contact them.

Magazines are now in the post and will hopefully arrive before Christmas

Currently sorting through and cataloguing the Trusty enginering drawings. Not seen anything yet for dynastart on Steed and not sure all drawings are there. This is going to take some time to complete.

As far as I know the dates in the Trusty register are from the factory records, so I would assume those to be correct.

Grahame, thank you for your thoughts on the membership fee increase. The vast majority of those that bothered to contact us regarding the increase were in favour and did not want us to scrap or go digital with the magazine. A number of renewals have already been received, only time will tell if the increase has a significant impact on membership numbers.

Grahame, sadly Facebook etc has taken over from forums and real clubs, social media groups acting as virtual clubs. Any discussion within a club etc wil generate differences of opinion, the problem is the typed word does not convey the same or intended tone.

Grahame, sorry to hear you will not be renewing your VHGMC membership, note this will mean you wil no longer be able to post on the forum.
Condenser v capacitor, my understanding is they are the same just a change in terminology over the years and of course construction methods and materials making modern ones more efficient and reliable.

Andy, renewal payment received thank you. When magazine arrives you will see, in the article about renewing, to ignore any date you see online.

Unfortunately the club no longer has anyone listed as the BMB helpline.
One possible way to date them would be from the engine number, this will depend on what engine is fitted as some makes are easier to date than others and if it is the original.
