Bought this on that auction website. It arrived via a commonly used courier in a severely damaged box. So damaged that the handle was missing from the package! Not now paying the full agreed price. What a pain!!
Anyway – its was pretty grubby form years of neglect, but after a strip down, clean, new leather washers it now looks OK. I’m not going to do anymore to it.
The main tank is brass but the whole unit is painted gold. This is chipped and scratched with some rust on the iron bits, this is all treated now.
The tank has been repaired but I doubt it si water tight. Just a display item.
I’ve just got to sort out a replacement handle. I need to find pictures of a complete one to check a few issues with the strap fixings, lid as well as the handle.
