Request help to identify nut-fruit plant which is in its first season at my garden. It looks little different from Pachira aquatica, or Pachira glabra (Bombacaceae). Each pod contains 12-16 seeds with white kernel. Kernel is little larger than peanut and tastes similar to seeds of watermelon.
If someone can exactly identify the plant. 5 images attached. Thanks.
Not sure this forum is the right place for this question, we tend to specialise in old garden machinery not plants.
I would suggest contacting the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew.
