Just started a new project renovating (possibly),or breaking an Atco Roughcut, not sure of the age but it has a Villiers 125cc (512H) engine.
Started on the engine and see it has a lot of rough weld on the mounting flanges and wondered if anyone could suggest why this is.
Have done a quick decoke and see that it has a +40 piston. Engine has good compression and turns over OK but no spark though system is very clean (only part that is)
Carb has a pinhole in the bottom of float chamber, what can I get to fill it?
That’s as far as I’ve got today. Any suggestions welcome.
    Timberjack out.

Engine-Been run loose or dropped and then someone’s been practicing their alloy welding skills!
Carb bowl – Araldite or JB Weld or some such.

Hondas crack there if they’ve been over revved. For the float thourghly dry it out then a drop of araldite works well, or you could solder it up.

You could try tiding up the edges of the weld to see if it has penetrated into the sump, from your photos it doesn’t look that good. But you never know sometimes we get a pleasant surprise. If by any chance it has penetrated then remove just enough to make it look a bit more presentable.
