Few pictures of my recent project, final drive gears and bearing were badly worn on one side, these were replaced,

Crawler is basted and primed ready for top coat.

Also a picture of last years project the MG2.

Refurbishing the tracks, bit of a long job making the rubbers and plates, started welding 10x10mm steel to the tops to build the up a bit, I don’t think it looks too bad once painted, it gives me plenty of welding practice anyway!!

That looks to be a different carb to mine. The air pipe is just a piece of straight 2″ hose on mine.

    Dicky,
I have already responded to you that the MG5 is not fitted with a Sturmey Archer engine but Ransomes’s own. The SA was only fitted to the MG2.

    Dicky,

Either your engine is running far to fast on “tick over” or the clutch drum is rusty and/or clutch shoes are stuck but that’s unlikely

    Dicky,
As identified by Rhys it is probably the speed being to fast but may also be weak clutch return springs or excessive wear in the clutch shoe pivots.
