Regarding recent comments about the ethanol content of petrol, there have been a few letters in Stationary Engine magazine on the same topic.
As well as the commercially available products such as redex etc, there has been mention of mixing approx 5% kerosene and or 1% ish of 2-stroke oil into your petrol.
Has anyone tried any of these methods, and any comments on the results?.

    Hello Joegrgraham.
I have used 5-10% of Kero in a Howard Gem with BJ engine a lot in the past, it made it run much smoother, and started better when hot, I think it burned enough oil to do without the 2 stroke oil!

I would try it, but only in an engine with relatively low compression ratio, or you will find it suffering from detonation.

    Good luck
    Chris
