    Recently The Hall & Duck Trust was asked to complete a chronological list of known Budding lawn mowers for a group of accredited Museums within the UK.
    This has come about because of so much incorrect information being peddled on the internet.

    The list below

    1, Original Budding Patent lawn mower no 1623 owned by Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd, Ipswich
    Condition incomplete

    2, Original Budding Patent lawn mower no 3157 owned by Science Museum, London.
    Condition complete

    3, Original Budding Improved lawn mower made by Ransomes under license 1858 – 1860 owned by The Hall & Duck Trust. Condition complete.

    4, Original Budding Improved lawn mower made by Ransomes under license 1858 – 1860 owned by Milton Keynes Rural Life Museum. Condition restored but has had incorrect handle added

    5 & 6, 2 Budding improved made by James Ferrabee 1860 – 1870 owned by Stroud Museum
    Condition one complete the other incomplete

    7, Ransomes Improved Budding (not patented) 1861 on loan from Ransomes to the Lawn Tennis Museum, Wimbledon. Condition complete

    8, Ferrabee Budding Improved post 1864 due to small size. Owner private
    Condition complete but requires restoration
