Although I have not had time to look at the Kohler engine on my Howard 200 since it expired at the Lotmead Farm w/e I am beginning to think it may actually have sheared its flywheel key.
So, how easy is it to remove a Kohler flywheel ? I believe a strap wrench is the necessary tool. Tried Meetens but he was unable offer a Kohler one and suggested I try Halfords.
I know Halfords and Machine Mart do sell strap wrenches but are they man enough or even big enough for the job ?
    Any suggestions ?

If you look around the outer edge of the flywheel you will see 1/2″ dia holes drilled in it which where used to balance the flywheel. Put a 1/2 bar in the deepest one of them and undo the nut. The strap wrenches are not very good as they spring to much. A puller is best used to pull the flywheel off, lump hammers are best avoided.
