    I had the theory that the aluminium governor was made from 22swg and had corroded away. I shall endeavour to make one and keep references if it performs correctly.
    Also I was attempting to machine some solid rubber handles and see how that goes. If not I like the wood idea so thanks for the response.

    Phew !!
    Managed to send some pics as to were im at with the project
    Looking forward to test starting the engine next week still plenty to do yet before she ploughs the first furrow .

    Happy New year all you guys
    Im after some help sourcing some rubber shift handles for the Mk2 trusty as ive had no luck on the old internet
    They need to be half inch bore and 2.25 inch long or there abouts
    also ive finished the full engine rebuild but missing the sizes of the governor paddle that fits in the cowling so if anyone knows the size it would be mighty helpfull as it would be a trial and error job.

    Thanks will haggle I’ll take a read and keep my fingers crossed.
    Luckily I have a friend who knows old bike engines so hopefully it goes to plan.
    I’ll put some project pics on if you are interested in project section if I can work out how to do it… Ha ha

    Glad you found the dealer that is fantastic as ifound it in a barn at Huddersfield and live in the district at Holmfirth.
    Glad I found the club and will surely have some more questions if unsure
