    Hi Charlie,

    I think you may have misunderstood what I was trying to explain, so have found another photo from the article and indicated what I believe is the fuel entry point. There is no sign of this on your photo number P1040986 in your first post, so it is probably bunged up with crud.

    Sean, thanks for clarification. I will have a good look at my carb and see if that hole exist, possibly corroded up.

    Thanks to Sean for pointing me in the right direction. I had a good poke around with a small screwdriver and found the hole shown in the last photo. It was completely filled with hard corrosion caused by float chamber having water in it some time in the past during storage.

    Good news, carb now refitted to engine and it starts and runs, success.
