One for the Real Professionals – (quote HD Trust) !

The images are of two versions of the governor vane and rod from early cast iron Suffolk engines.
If anyone has a spare set of the right hand ones (in each image) I will be most grateful.

Angus , they appear difficult to source , as is often the case buying a complete engine as a donor is the best option , there’s plenty on the unmentionable auction site (unless of course you’re HD Trust).

Plenty of the “wrong” ones available on the dreaded but as yet havn’t found the one that I want. In fact one engine that I acquired had an incorrect one “fitted” – it locked the throttle solid! . The rods are easy to make and as the vane is out of sight I can knock up one to match the shape and dimensions of the original one . I’m Going to experiment with pressing in swages to match the original and give it some strength. Also have some feelers out for possible sources.
There’s no hurry to find one so something may turn up.

Solved my problem by modifying one of the plentiful ” wrong ones ”

Necessity being the mother of invention etc.

My search drew a blank for the vane and rod.
