My 1928 Simar type 5 was imported/marketed by Piccard & Pictet of Geneva, who were responsible for marketing the early Simar machines prior to Geo Monro.
At the Shelsley Walsh VSCC hill climb on Sunday I came across this Piccard & Pictet ‘Pic Pic’ monster of a car dated 1914/18, it was classified as a Grand Prix car in it’s day and on Sunday it sounded gorgeous and climbed the Shelsley brilliantly, the engine by the way was 9062cc and was an aero engine of the period. It was a bit of a handful during second runs as the track was then wet.
