Ransomes Motor Triple with MAG2055 problem

Hi I have a weird problem with my Ransomes Motor TRiple with MAG 2055 SRL engine. The engine has spark on only 1 cylinder and when you take that sprak plug off the engine the second one has spark but it’s very weak and it appears rarerly than on the first one. And the weirdest thing is that the engine works without that plastic spinning thing with metal on top of it and it works better

It sounds like you have a crack in the distributor cap. Somebody tried to play a trick on me once and took the rotor arm out of the distributor- the engine still worked fine! That was down to a crack that the spark was tracking down in the cap.

Definitely suggests an issue with the distributor. Either the cap or the rotor arm, probably the cap.

Thanks! That’s probably it. The problem Is It’s almost impossible to get these new in normal price at least in my country. This would cost more than I paid for the whole tractor!
