Hello, I’m new to the club and have a few questions about a Landmaster Mk1 that I have just picked up. Should the Landmaster have a reverse gear and should I be able to drive it forwards without the tines being driven? I don’t suppose anyone has a manual for these machines by any chance? The villiers engine is sweet as a nut and needs only minor cosmetics, the whole machine runs and digs well but I know nothing about them, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Alasdair.

I think only the Kestrel and Hawk had reverse. The maintenance instructions and parts list I have for the Gamecock do not show a lever for disengaging the tines, only the main gear lever and one for disengaging drive wheels.

There’s a topic on the old VHGMC which might be of help…
