Howard Rotavator but which one ?

Hi Every body,I’ve been given a Howard rotavator but can’t see which one it is. Its not a 300 or a Gem’ its got a JAP engine and the Serial No looks like 2421262 but its stamped in 2 places on an mating surfaces . 1 is the gearbox and the other is the Rotor gear housing. Come on SG1 you’ve been spot on before, WHAT HAVE I GOT. Dave

Hi just a stab in the dark, could it a Bullfinch 200.

If it is a small machine it could be a bullfinch, fitted with a JAP2A engine,, If it is a much larger machine it could be a 400 they had a JAP 4/3 engine, Gems of course had a JAP option, I cannot think of any other models with JAP engines, unless one has been retro fitted to your machine. A photo would be useful.

That sounds more like it Chris as its not the 300 or the smaller 200 so its a 400 which I’ve never heard of or seen one. So your the “Beez Kneez” then Chris , Regards Dave
