I have just added another Howard Gem to the collection, at serial no G9338 I can see that it dates from 1947/8 it is a Mk2 but not with the later gear lever quadrant and it is fitted with the Kohler 321T engine, I wonder wether the Factory fitted this upgrade engine? as the air filter is typical Kohler and is fitted using the factory fitting to the frame, also it has the single tank, when I got my first “Gem” I had the name and phone no of a Chap who had all the Gem hisories from the factory despatch books, he was very helpful over the phone, but I cant find his details, Does anyone have that info please?

Sounds like it was the American market model, there was one the well known auction site a short while ago.

Thanks for that Andy, I had no Idea there was an American market version, We live and learn! If anyone comes across the chap who has the Howard records, I would like to know where it was sent from new. Regards Plonker
