Howard 400 help please

Hi all, my friend has a howard 400 with a Kohler engine, the machine has not been used for some time and although its runs well the clutch is sticking, can any one advise on how it could be unstuck? It does release but not every time. Also could anyone advise on the right transmission oil

Hello, The transmission oil is SAE 90. Seeing the clutch is not sticking all the time, it might be worth checking the cable. If the cables free, I would think the clutch would free up with more use. If not you will have to remove the engine to see what’s causing it to catch. Hope this helps.
