Having got my newly acquired Hayter 21 to run, I turned my attention to the wheel drive because they didn’t (drive that is). Turned out the drive belt was missing, so I sourced one and fitted it.
Before realising the belt was missing I stripped down the clutch, cleaned it up and re-assembled.
My problem is that the clutch does not work very well. Depending on how tight I tighten the wheel nut (castellated nut and split pin) means that either the drive does not work at all or it works all the time (even when the clutch lever is held down). Any ideas how I can solve this?
Also, the chain guard is missing, any ideas where I could source one?
