A really good and varied horticultural working area this year. This event must rate as the best ‘shop window’ for the public to view horticultural machinery at work, some restored machines and some in their ‘working clothes’ which is always good to see.
The VHGMC marquee was busy at times , requests for information and advice were dealt with by myself and other members present.
I was good to see several ‘walk behind’ machines being used, but there were some small ‘ ride on’ machines doing some serious work when conditions became easier after the bigger machines had ploughed up the working area, which happily was a bit bigger than last year.

Most of the trophy winners were VHGMC members this year, with the Puddy family from Portsmouth winning the VHGMC ‘missing gnome’ award for their valiant efforts. Kim Tooley was the recipient of the main silver cup, with Jim Beacon winning the ‘Les Ricketts’ plate.
It was good to see so many VHGMC members taking part, more would be welcome! so why not think about entering next year, you need to phone Chris Ricketts 01258 4529849 (section leader).
The Horticultural section is not organised by the VHGMC, we are only there to promote the VHGMC and to make the public more aware of the activities of the Club in various parts of the country.
I will try to post a few photos now.
    Chris
