MemberHi Just taken out a 30 day free trial after finding your club.
However a bit puzzled as to how to talk to other members/post queries etc.
Can you give me an idiots guide?

KeymasterKeith, you seem to have mastered how to make a posting. What exactly do you need to know ‘how to do’

MemberHi Charlie,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I couldn’t see how to get a general query out to all members for info.

MemberWhat’s it called?
I have just aquired “the heap” (pictures attached) and wonder if anyone can throw any light as to what it might have been marketed as. I have been told that it may have been known as an “ATCO Toughcut”
It has what looks like a Villiers 125cc Engine (H512 lightweight model).
Can anyone enlighten me further.

KeymasterYou need to reduce photo file size below limit of 3072 KB

ParticipantI see no pictures!!
However there certainly was an Atco Toughcut which was around with various engines up until the early 70s I think. The chassis had many parts in common with the Atco SF34 and SF35 Mini gang mowers. Your version with the Villiers Lightweight was designated The Atco 20″ H.D. Sidewheel Motor Mower. Other variations were, the SF33 with a BSA/Villiers Sloper engine, SF13 with a Villiers Mk7 and the 24″ SH6 with a Villiers mk10. There may well have been others!!December 9, 2013 at 5:28 pm #3888vhgmcbuddy
MemberThanks, Angus that’s useful.
Sorry about the photo or lack of it. I shall have to figure out how to reduce the size for future queries.
More awkward these machines than the mechanical varieties I’m more used to.
More difficult when you’re old and grey.

KeymasterThe simplest way to reduce photo file size is to download free software called shrinkpic. This runs in the background and automatically resizes photo files whenever you upload them to the web or attach to an e mail.

MemberHi All, Further to my recent attempts at getting a photo through the ether, I am trying again.
Thanks to Charlie and Angus for all your help.
Here goes. Think this is an Atco 20 HD sidewheel motormower circa 1960. Any advance??

ParticipantYour image confirms it to be the Sidewwheel HD, later re-badged as the Toughcut. Pity about the well worn “slick” tyres which won’t have much grip!
Those wheels were mega expensive and are no longer available new. -
