    Below is an advert from 8th July 1955 issue of Amateur Gardening for the Howard Bullfinch, note the reference to previous name Bulldog and Lanz having rights to the Bulldog name.
    Compare it with advert from 1st April 1955 issue which refers to the Howard Bulldog.

    Love the “safety footwear” the lady in the Bulldog advert is sporting. People clearly didn’t value their tootsies in those days !
