I have an electric garden cart made by Braune. It is in very poor condition but I’ve got it stripped down and hope to get it working. The 12v. motor seems to run and so far the only real worry is a damaged pinion in the gearbox which I hope I can make good enough to work with a bit of careful filing. It should be easy enough to get chain, cables and a battery and the steelwork is sufficiently over-engineered for it to hold together. I’ve just removed the axle.sprocket and need to see why the sprocket is wobbling about not driving anything.
Has anyone any information on this machine or thinks I may be able to help them now I’ve sorted out how the wiring, etc. works?

Not a very common machine. A few photos would be good to see what it looks like.

There’s certainly a couple of models of the Braune/Batric carts. They seem to have been made starting in the 1960s but not sure exactly when. The invalid cars were more successful and were certainly produced into the 1980s.

I wonder if the carts and invalid cars used much the same (or interchangeable) wiring, motor and battery systems?

There are some photos of the Braune/Batric stuff in the gallery.
