Tagged: Barford Atom, cutterbar
Hello , I had a Barford Atom 15 out and working today for the first time in my hands after spending some time getting in back into shape. It has a cutterbar attachment and I found that the machine vibrated a lot particularly when not in work. Is this usual for a Barford Atom as I have no previous experience with them. I had to do some welding on the handle bars joints during refurbishment so I guess it was susceptible to vibration before my ownership. Does anyone else use one with a cutterbar?
The vibration is probably due to the action of the cutter bar, an Allen scythe is just the same. With drive to cutter bar disconnected you should find the machine runs smoothly.
Got a machine and need info or have a question? Then a post in the VHGMC forums is a great place to start!
