There was a spam attack yesterday, user id responsible now blocked and spam removed. Let me know if I have missed any.
As a result of this attack the membership list has been reviewed and a number of dubious user id’s without full name have been de-activated. If you find your user id does not work anymore please contact us via the contact link giving user id, full name and e mail address.

Is there not a case for doing away with user names altogether or have no posting unless a fully paid up member?
Angus, we did try to get members to use their real names but this did not work. The idea of the free trial is to give users a chance to see what is available and hopefully realise what a good club we are and join.
Unfortunately we do get the occasional spammer, we are working on improving the anti spam measures, but the spammers are also working on ways around them.
Guarding against spammers must a bit like painting the Forth Bridge I suppose!!
Apart from causing problems to a site that they chose to latch on to I find it difficult to understand their objectives, this particular batch seemed to consist of a whole bunch of links to sites all gathered together and for what reason? your guess is as good as mine.
In answer to the next question no I did not try to follow any of them.
