Hi people
I think I have an old Sheen flame gun I bought at the weekend. No name on it that I can see and the little bit of remaining paint seems gold? I would like some help dating it. Correct colour, and how to fit a new pump washer as the old one is gone. The end on the punp does not seem to open like a primus pump to make a new washer. Im going to try include some pictures so please be patient! Cheers Dave

I should mention I tried making a washer from building up o rings but it just pulled the fuel back out the top of the pump on the up stroke without pressurising the actual tank….

You appear to have a Sheen x100.

I’m not sure how to replaced the pump washer as my machine was fully working so have not opened it up. I’ll try to remember to have a look, but am away this weekend so not sure when this’ll be.

Hi I had already seen those manuals on the old website. Very nice. However they don’t show how the washer goes on. On a primus lamp the end of the pump normally screws apart so you can fit the new washer between the 2 pieces. See my last photo. This one does not seem to screw apart and I am afraid to force it incase I damage it. As I said I put a washer into it but it sucked the fuel back into the pump tube so I am going to take out the non return valve tomorrow and see is it stuck open. Any ideas on the original colour would be appreciated as it seems to have remenants of metallic gold and not the usual sheen orange I see on the web. I’m wondering does the washer being rubber from the looks of the ones on eBay just stretch over the brass end ? Thanks for any help!

I have ordered a new set of washers and a new jet and non return valve . I have stripped it down and unblocked the full length of the burner tubes. Going to start prep for paint next. Original colour ideas please ? I’m thinking its a sheen 300 ?

I acquired one of these beasts from a Hollowell auction several years ago – when warmed up and at full bore it delivers an impressive flame + sound effect too! ( while warming up it makes an impressive flame thrower !!!) It also had a sizeable thirst getting through a tank full in about 30 minutes.

I have not used Base Camp myself yet despite recommending folk go there but feedback I have had from some folk is pretty good.

A very old style ironmongers just round the corner still stock a good range of cup washers – bit pricey but it keeps the business local.

I’ve used Basecamp several times in the past, for flameguns, garden syringes, spraeyrs and various other letaher washer needs. I’ve always found them to be very helpful.

I got a full set of new washers to restore my Sheen flame gun, and it works ok, but I wish I knew how to stop it leaking fuel from the on/off tap, I lose more from there than out of the nozzle when its burning! there must be a way!
