    I’ve just acquired a really nice Gem from 1950 and would like to fit a new spark plug and magneto points. Any ideas where I can obtain these?

    Try the Greenspark Plug company for plug. Villiers Parts sell magneto points.

    Apart from the suggestions from Charlie, you could try John Cruse, The Mower Centre, Hailsham, East Sussex 01323 842477 ( daytime), he is a club member and carries vast stocks of parts for older machines.
