The 16 inch Mk 13 started production in January 1950 and ended production in August 1955, your machine number was made in June 1955.<br />

Look well but fence posts will split in a very short time, as most are made of soft wood. You really need to use ash, as its resilient, and will last even in a damp environment. Atco never had registration numbers.<br />

The engine is a 350 cc JAP which possibly came off a late 20&#8217;s Raleigh motorcycle, as they were belt driven. JAP did produce a 2 stroke with chain drive to the magneto called an Aza but it is not this engine, the gearbox does look Albion of sorts. If you do paint and try and use it, you will find that the machine will not grip, and slip and slide.</p>

When we restore machines, its back to how they were in a new state, as for parts if they are missing then we make them, we are always in the foundry picking up new castings. The engine should be an Aspera 122cc long life heavy duty, air cooled, third-port induction, loop scavenged two-stroke.<br />
The one you are showing dates from the earliest 1975 &#8211; 1981<br />

The true Minor which is styled differently started production in January 1951 and ended production in November 1955, This was classified as a mark 6.<br />

The problem was solved by sprayed new paint which had got into the non return valve, so releasing the air pressure.
