Right story so far….

Did a compression test and had no compression on 1 cylinder. I have had the head off and reground all valves in as 1 was looking like it wasn’t seating properly. I now have compression on both cylinders. I haven’t tried to run it yet as all the exhaust/inlet gaskets have fell to bits and was letting exhast and inlet mix.…[Read more]

It’s a bit of a head scratcher this end too mate. It got put into dry storage a year ago. We collected it a few weeks back and obviously any fuel etc had gone stale. we cleaned the carb out and flushed the tank and it ran fine. We returned a couple of days later to run it up and then take to the allotment and it was running but the hunting almost…[Read more]

I have emailed that company, thanks.

I am going to do a compression test as it is spitting back through the air filter a bit which would say to me either a bent inlet valve or one that is not seating properly. My uncle used to work on garden machinary so is quite sorted when it comes to older engines. He suggested the replacing the carb jets etc…[Read more]

Hi all. Newbie hoping to pick brains. I have a Howard Gem with the 810cc 360 engine. It has what I believe to be an Amal 348/10 carburetor. Problem is I seem to have the only one ever made. I have finished the internet looking for eithwr a replacement or a rebuild kit but cannot find any reference to this particular carb. My uncle has had a tinker…[Read more]
