The engine shown is a European (Italian) built Tecumseh the Tecumseh manual that I have only seems to give engine dating information for American built engines.</p>

<p>Take a look around this site I found it very useful for info on a Clinton engine.</p>
<p>We also found many parts are still available directly from the US via ebay suppliers but do be aware of postage and import duties.</p>

The snap type couplings are certainly an improvement over the traditional screw type.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is most unusual to have no seal at all on a centrifugal pump such as yours but we live and learn.<br />
The fact that there is a grease cup feeding the seal indicates the presence of a seal of some description and yes charging it with grease will improve the seal for a while. 									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The couplings don&#8217;t rely on the threads to provide the seal, that is normally taken care of by a rubber or leather washer that sits in the bottom of the female half of the coupling.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Assuming that all checks out ok with the suggestions made so far and the pump is still not working the next place to look is the drive shaft gland seal, if that has failed the pump will not prime no matter how hard you try.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just a word of warning &#8211; if you are tempted to test the fuel injector by connecting it to the injector pipe and cranking the engine with the injector facing away from the cylinder be sure to keep hands and arms etc well away from the injector nozzle. Atomised fuel will pass through your skin easily and cause severe problems.</p>

<p>When we emptied my late fathers shed we unearthed what I beleive to be sampling rod for hay stacks etc it was about 8 feet long with a rope eye at the handle end and a pointed end with a barb like a fish hook at the business end. I no longer have it is in a local collection now so I can&#8217;t send a photo.</p>
